Landscape Design
Our team consists of seasoned professionals with over 20 years and 12 million dollars of design/build experience. The following Design Examples are intended to demonstrate a few of our in-house design capabilities.
Depending on our design backlog and our clients schedule and needs we will either develop the plans in-house or we will recommend one of our design partners. Okun Technology, Inc. has developed a top-notch team of other local designers, certified engineers and certified architects to meet all of our residential and commercial clients needs.
Design Services Include:

* CAD (Computer Aided Design) drawings & Construction Detail drawings

For extensive design projects: We will typically need to start off with an existing scaled drawing which should include the footprint of the home or building, the property lines, easements, setbacks, existing structures or outbuildings, all paved surfaces and underground utility locations including the septic system if applicable. This information should be sufficient for minor landscape construction projects such as a deck or a new foundation planting.
If a more extensive project is desired which would include grading or clearing, we will need a more detailed "as-built drawing" which should include all of the above mentioned items plus the existing grades (preferably plotted on a 1' elevation variance), a tree survey (size, type and location of all trees) and a flood survey if applicable. There are numerous companies to that specialize in these type of drawings. They are usually listed in the yellow pages under "Surveyors/Land". You should expect to pay anywhere from $400 to $850 or more depending on the size of the site and other variables. A certified as-built survey is required for most building permits in Georgia counties and is essential for us to begin any extensive design.
We would also like to recommend that the appropriate as-built drawing be sent to us via email, fax or US mail before we have our initial site meeting. This will allow us the opportunity to get familiar with the site before our first meeting as well as allow us to immediately begin sketching the solutions on a scaled drawing at our initial meeting. Design Contract: A design contract will be prepared following the initial site visit. The contract will show the hours estimated for drawing the design and the price to do so, and will vary depending on the scope of the project and the actual design services desired.
Design Services: Hourly rates for professional design services will vary depending on the necessary personnel required to perform the desired service. Our hourly rates range from $60/hr. to $150/hr.
Design Referrals Services: We will recommend one of our design partners when necessary. Typically, these design partners will contract directly with the owner or our client however, there are many cases where we will subcontract certain design requirements.
